What is paintball?
Paintball is a fast-paced, interactive game played by two opposing teams on opposite ends of a 5+ acre field. Usually each team has a flag hung at their home base, and the object is to capture the opposing team's flag. Players shoot gelatin capsules filled with water-soluble colors. Once shot and marked, you're out of that 15-minute game.

Like all action sports, there is some risk involved and a Release of Liability must be signed. However, if adequate protection is worn and safety rules are observed, paintball is a safe, fun, positive experience for everyone. Protective equipment includes a face mask to protect the ears and throat and goggles to protect the eyes. Paintball is even safer than bowling.
The Fun Farm has never had an eye injury.
return to topDoes it hurt when you get "hit"?
Paintball pellets are thin gellatin shells filled with water soluble "paint". They travel at a speed of 200-300 feet per second. Since they are fairly light, they do not achieve great momentum. They break open upon impact and usually cause a stinging sensation lasting only a few seconds. However, more pain may be felt when hit at close range.
We observe a 20 foot tag rule to minimize the "hit".

Do I have to belong to a team?
No, you do not need to belong to a team to play. We welcome walk-ons Weds through Sunday from 10am to 6pm year round. Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays are best for walk-ons.
Do I need to be physically fit to play?
No, but as paintball is an active, fast-paced game being physically fit will help. Inform the owner of any medical conditions or allergies.

- Inexpensive brown work gloves will work.
- Remove the top half of the glove finger used to pull the trigger.
- shoes
- Shoes should provide good traction and ankle support.
- They should be comfortable and not hurt your feet.
- They will get dirty!

- Cammo is good, but anything dark is fine.
- Clothes should be comfortable to move in and appropriate for the weather.
- Cover everything--long pants and long sleeved shirt--to minimize impacts.
Will paint wash out of my clothes?
Yes, the paint used is water soluble and should wash out.
It's best to wash the clothes ASAP after games end.
Do I need to buy my own equipment?
No, you can rent everything you need at The Fun Farm. If you start playing regularly and want to buy your own, Fun Farm can help there, too.
